What We Offer
AIAC aims to expand its rules to cater to the growing demands of the global business community with the introduction of the AIAC Arbitration Rules, the AIAC i-Arbitration Rules, the AIAC Fast Track Rules and the AIAC Mediation Rules. These rules are kept under constant revision to ensure relevance with commercial practicalities and expectations. The Centre also publishes guides and circulars to facilitate the use of and understanding of its rules.
Arbitration
The AIAC has administered over 1,400 adjudication cases with 2017 recording the highest number of adjudication cases with a total number of 708 cases alone. In carrying out its duty as the adjudication authority, AIAC also regularly conducts adjudication training programmes as part of the AIAC’s efforts to regulate and maintain the high standards of competency expected of Malaysian adjudicators.
Adjudication
Unlike arbitration, the mediator does not deliver a binding decision. A fusion of mediation and arbitration called Mediation-Arbitration (“Med-Arb”) is also available with Med-Arb allowing parties to initiate mediation before resorting to arbitration. If the parties are unable to resolve their dispute through mediation, they may then attempt to settle their dispute through arbitration. As one of the leading international mediation centres in Asia, the AIAC offers Med-Arb proceedings that leverage on an experienced and impartial mediator panel, conducted in accordance with international standards and best practice procedures for mediation.
